IT for Faculty
The Academic Technology Department provides a wide range of applications and services to support the teaching and learning mission in the classroom and online. The Faculty Technology Center is where you will find this support. Some of the services include assisting faculty in redesigning courses for online and hybrid learning, working with faculty and staff to create accessible websites and learning materials, and designing and developing engaging physical and virtual learning environments, using the learning management systems (Moodle), web conferencing (Elluminate), video production, video streaming, and smart classrooms.
Elluminate and TurnItIn Now Available Within Moodle
The Faculty Technology Center is pleased to announce that two widely used learning tools, Elluminate and TurnItIn, have been integrated with Moodle. For more information, visit the Academic Technology website.
Moodle Replaces WebCT
The university has selected Moodle as our primary learning management system. WebCT is no longer available. For more information, visit the Academic Technology website.
Self-Help for Your Technology Questions
The IT Training Guides and Resources page provides links to a variety of online user guides, tutorials, books and quick reference cards for some of the most frequently used software and applications such as Outlook, Entourage, Gmail, Adobe Acrobat and Moodle. You will also find configuration instructions for email clients, smartphone devices, phones and voicemail, tips & tricks for working remotely and how to set junk mail and spam filters.
Encrypted Wireless Network
CSUN's Encrypted Wireless Network (csun_wpa2) provides you with an encrypted wireless environment, requires a one-time login after the initial setup and does not require a VPN connection. For more information, visit the Encrypted Wireless Network webpage.
