Dr. Nancy Prosenjak joined the faculty in 2000, coming to Northridge from the Metropolitan State College of Denver, Colorado, where she served as Assistant Professor of English. Dr. Prosenjak holds a Ph.D. in Curriculum and Instruction from Kent State University, a M. S. in Reading and a M. S. in Gifted Education from Youngstown State University, and a B.S. in Education from The Ohio State University. She taught elementary and middle school for 16 years, serving as classroom teacher, Reading Specialist, and Coordinator of Gifted Programs. Her teaching and research interests include literacy, children’s/adolescent literature, issues of gender/social justice, and teacher education.
