Dr. Raymond Brie joined the faculty in 2002, coming to Northridge from Oxnard College (CA) where he was the Dean of Instruction and Innovation. He previously served as an Assistant Professor of curriculum and instruction at Texas Christian University and as Chair and Professor of Teacher Education at California State University Bakersfield. Dr. Brie holds a B.A. in elementary education from Arizona State University, M.A. in elementary mathematics education from Arizona State University, and taught in grades 1, 2, 7, and 8 in Arizona for 10 years before completing his doctoral studies. He is the past president of the California Mathematics Council, Central Section. His teaching and research interests are in mathematics education, infusing technology in teacher education and promoting teacher leadership. He also has an extensive knowledge and experience working with grant projects related to mathematics education and teacher education.
